Best Musical: ‘Guys and Dolls,’Ocean State Theatre Company

‘Guys and Dolls’ in the hands of Russell Garrett last July was a feast for the eyes and ears. Abe Burrows and Joe Swerling’s story of gangsters and showgirls, killers and kingpins, hustlers and hookers, was brought vibrantly to life on a set designed and lighted by Bert Scott and with lavish costumes designed by Brian Horton. The beautiful voices, leggy chorus girls and dual love stories were mesmerizing.
